Purified Style
Meaning to purify, to render more pure. This style entails keeping the page as clear and simple as possible by eliminating everything superfluous. Everything should be light, airy, pure. White is often the dominant tone, though pale grey and certain pastel colours, like pale blue or turquoise, can be added. Red can be used for some dynamic effect. However, it's important to limit the number of colours and keep only the essentials.
Advantages
Clear and simple to use. Ergonomically efficient.
N.B. A page loaded down with buttons is the antithesis of a purified style. Limit the number of buttons per page to two or three, and keep white spaces between the elements to make viewing easier on the eyes.
Corporate Style
The overall emphasis should be on the company. Texts should take priority over images. The main goal is to inform the reader, not distract or overwhelm him. Corporate sites often use images of their work environments (building, showroom, conference rooms, etc.). Some friendly images of staff and satisfied clients, used sparingly, can add a lot of life and warmth. Colours used should remain sober or pale, with few vibrant colours. Keep a clear white background.
Advantages
Structured site. Reader's attention should be drawn more to the content than to the container.
Saturated Style
This style is often mistakenly confused with the corporate style. In contrast with the corporate style, the texts in this style do not take priority, but yield to the different tools, buttons and advertising which instead dominate the site. Pages are often filled (saturated), and space between the elements is minimal - the opposite of a 'purified style' site.
Advantages
Many tools and links are accessible from the main page.
Disadvantages
Ergonomically inefficient. Too much information to easily guide the reader. Takes too long to scroll down the pages.
Dark Style
Dark colours can be used to create a professional, modern and luxurious style. Choice of a very dark background colour is essential for this design; this helps to accentuate important visual elements like the logo and buttons. Secondary colours used must be sober, the opposite of the funky style - grey, brown, marine blue or wine red, for example.
Advantages
Sober colours, structured site, logo made prominent.
Funky Style
Dynamic and original. The effect should be attention-grabbing: eccentric curves and stylized images, allied with explosive and contrasting colours. A wide range of colours can be used. Use of an unconventional font can help add an element of fantasy.
Advantages
A style rich in colour and personality.
Green Style
In harmony with nature. Natural scenery, elements of vegetation and stylized curves create an ideal ambiance for an ecological or rural, countrified concept. Green and blue should be the colours of choice. Red and yellow can add dashes of dynamism to the concept. The overall tone should be saturated, lively and intense. The whole should be laid on a pure white background.
Advantages
Ecological concept, evoking nature and the country.
